Dera Gai Celebration June 24An Aruban tradition celebrated every year on June 24. History tells that San Juan festivities originated on the South part of Mexico and came down to Guatemala and other countries in Central America reaching Venezuela and passed down to Aruba. It is a custom brought by the missionaries who evangelized the villages; Aruba celebrates San Juan in a unique way, Up to this day, Dera Gai is still celebrated in every town, during the festivities, there are several games typical dances, singing and traditional food fairs.

Aruba Hi-Winds Tournament July 2 -July 8, 2013The Aruba Hi-Winds has been the biggest and best known water sport event of the Caribbean for a period of 24 years. Since 1996 the Aruba Hi-Winds has been held at the Fisherman's Hut the best beach on the island for windsurfing and kite surfing, besides the matches and races there are several bands, DJ's, food and drink stands and side-events on the beach. Whether you're a traditional down-wind slalom racer, a fearless freestyle or if you're joined the newest craze in water sports: kite boarding.
